Antxon Belakortu, portavoz de Eusko Alkartasuna en el Ayuntamiento de Gasteiz, ha denunciado que la empresa Esmaltaciones San Ignacio ha incumplido el convenio firmado con el Consistorio con el despido colectivo de 36 trabajadores. “Hay un incumplimiento flagrante del convenio y no es de recibo la actuación de la empresa”, ha afirmado Belakortu que ha pedido al alcalde que se implique en el caso. 

El convenio urbanístico firmado en 2003 para el traslado de las empresas Pemco y Esmaltaciones San Ignacio de su ubicación en el barrio de Adurza a Jundiz, ambas compañías se comprometían a no acudir a los convenios colectivos para ajustar el tamaño de sus plantillas, “de forma que si consideraban necesario reducir el número de trabajadores tenían que hacerlo por medio de jubilaciones, prejubilaciones, …”, según recuerda el concejal independentista. 

Sin embargo, el 24 de julio la empresa acudió al juzgado de lo mercantil pidiendo permiso para llevar adelante un despido colectivo de 36 trabajadores. “Lo cual es grave, porque cuando se firmó el convenio de traslado, la empresa tenía una plantilla de 330 personas, ahora son 156 y quieren dejarlo en 120. Esto no es de recibo tratándose de una empresa que ganó 26 millones € en la operación de traslado”, afirma Belakortu. 

El Ayuntamiento de Gasteiz, insiste el portavoz de Eusko Alkartasuna, “hizo un gran esfuerzo para que la empresa ganara en la operación, pero que ganara para invertir en el municipio y mantener los puestos de trabajo y ahora la empresa tiene que responder al esfuerzo realizado”. Los despidos supondrían, además, un agravio comparativo porque “cuando Pemco, la otra empresa implicada en el traslado, pasó por dificultades planteó la posibilidad de efectuar despidos y el Ayuntamiento le dijo que no, respuesta que Pemco aceptó con responsabilidad”. 

Por ello, mostró su confianza en que “el Gobierno de Lazcoz sea permeable a la propuesta de Eusko Alkartasuna de implicarse en el tema” y diga a la empresa que “no puede seguir en esta línea, porque los acuerdos están para cumplirse”.
